Deborah Carlson

Deborah Carlson has been working with the medium of glass for over 40 years.  She has studied with the best glass masters in the world.  This in-depth education has allowed her to become highly versed in all glass disciplines.  She has taught in national craft and glass schools and studios, including a month-long artist-in-residence in Taiwan, where she demonstrated and lectured at the National Education University.  Her works and commissions can be found in national and international permanent collections, museums, galleries, private residences, and public installations. While mostly nature-oriented, her work can have a diverse calling, venturing or blending from traditional to contemporary techniques and ideas. Her current works include experiments in textures and 3D with a reverence for nature. All things are layered and have depth, but the inner design is often covered by the opaque visage, thus hiding the true beauty of the experience. Glass has a great way of breaking through that shell and showing the soul.
